“If you want things in your relationship to change, you are going to need to change things in your relationship.”
A friend of mine told me this and he was referring to my human relationship, but I thought that this was so true with human-horse relationships as well.
When it comes to helping people with their horses I first ask two very important questions:
If you want things to change, you should have a high level of teachability. I know this varies depending on needs, desires, and time available. However, for the most part your ability to accept the role of a ‘student’ and ‘listen’ to what someone is sharing is very important to how fast you will progress and how successful you will be at learning.
Again, if you want things to change, you should have a high level of changeability. This also depends on many factors, but having the willingness to change is also very important to how fast you will progress and how successful you will be at learning.
You have to be teachable and willing to change if you want a different result!
If you said yes to both of these questions… and ranked them 6 or higher, you are perfect for this program. If not, you may need to find another program to suit your needs.
To learn well, to make changes in your relationship for the better, and to really progress fully in this program, however, you may have to take a step backwards in order to relearn a few things. This won’t be for long, but it will be necessary to look at things in a new way.
“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result” – Albert Einstein
So to go forward, sometimes you have to take a step back in order to start over in a different way.
We are looking at your progression not your perfection.
In order to get to where you want to go, you first need to practice in order to progress and then you need to do both in order to reach perfection. It’s all about pushing the “Easy Button” and taking the baby steps you need to make you and your horse feel comfortable and confident. There’s also a lot of fun mixed in too!
If you are 100% teachable with a 100% willingness to change, you will learn this program so quickly that I can guarantee you’ll get the results you are looking for.
Here is a quick overview of how we look at teaching:
There is a training balance scale based on just two things:
Our training starts with number 1 – your thoughts, dreams, and the why! What do you want? Why are you looking? Why do you want it? What motivated you to look here? What is your ultimate dream? How badly do you want your dream to come true?
That is 90% of the training – your thoughts and motivation.
The thought process is a lot more important than the how. Anyone can teach how, but it is like a house built on sand if it doesn’t have a strong foundation in Why. What’s the purpose? If the purpose of a home is to protect you and your family and be strong and stable, you wouldn’t even think of building it on sand or water because it would rot, sink, or become damaged quickly.
Sometimes it is hard for people to learn how and sometimes there is even a fear in starting something new. Sometimes people get stuck in the how because they constantly say, “I don’t know how”, and that’s where they stay, without moving forward. Sometimes they don’t even start because they get stuck there.
Then there are others that say, “I know it’s possible and I’m going to get there. I’m just going to try, and try, and try until I get there.” Even if there is a fear of learning something new; the motivation, the drive, and the dream is more important. I’m sure you know people like this and you know that they succeed.
You have to know where you’re going in order to get there…your dream relationship. We want to see you and your horse have the most amazing relationship that it brings you to tears. We want you to finally get more than what you have dreamt about and more than you can ever have imagined with your horse. We want your heart to be filled with more love than ever before. And we want you to enjoy the process and have a lot of fun doing it.
There are four steps to the learning process with humans:
You need a definite purpose, goal or dream! In each lesson we teach you not only how, and make it an easy and fun process, but we also teach you why and what the purpose is for each lesson, game, or exercise. When you know the purpose and stick to it, no matter how your horse responds, you will know how to react and be able to be creative in what you do next. Of course, we are always right there to help you as well and answer any of your questions personally.
We don’t use the shotgun approach when working with horses. You know the approach where you decide to do a lot of things all at once hoping that something will stick. If you do that you are guaranteed to confuse your horse, not to mention yourself. Besides, this approach wastes precious time with your horse that you could use to get exactly what you really want…the perfect relationship.
Focus, focus, focus… on your dream! …It can happen and it will happen.
Have a specific focus and purpose. Know exactly what you want and why in order to move forward. That’s how you successfully progress to your dream and that’s how we have designed our programs. They start at the beginning and work as building blocks to take you exactly where you want to go.
We want to help you reach your dreams and give you hope for fulfilling more than you could ever have imagined. We’ve seen it so often and we want to see it with you and your horse as well.
We care so deeply about horses and know that every person who “gets it” will bring love, joy, and value to every one of their horses’ lives and in turn to horses and humankind all over.
My horses have shown me so much love and we have an unbelievable relationship, so I want to “pay it forward” and give you the same thing.
There are no words that can truly express the deep joy I have in my heart because of my relationship with my horses. They have enriched my life in so many ways!
